Eurofins replaced its 2017 lab system and the manual workarounds around it with an integrated Odoo platform, consolidating sample workflow across five departments in nine months.

How it started

Before Dynapps stepped in.

When Eurofins added its previous lab system in 2017, the platform was sized for the lab's then-current footprint. By the time Mohammed Alsoghaier, Managing Director, and Oussama Sekkak, IT Manager and project lead for the platform implementation, came to revisit the system, five testing departments were operating across food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and environmental analysis, each with its own reporting cadence and accreditation obligations under ISO/IEC 17025. The 2017 system no longer carried that load alone. Work that should have flowed through one system was being stitched together across several tools, with manual entry filling the gaps. Oussama owned the choice approaching: extend the patchwork further, or commit to a single integrated platform.

The challenge

Where the cracks showed.

Reporting that previously took weeks of manual entry was eventually streamlined through EDI integrations, which means the pre-Odoo state involved sustained manual transcription between the LIMS and downstream client reporting. In a five-department setup with distinct testing and reporting needs, that manual transcription accumulated across every reporting cycle. 

How the rollout really happened

From kickoff to first-lab go-live in nine months, then scaling by department.

  • Kickoff

    Oussama Sekkak led the LIMS implementation from the Saudi Ajal side.

  • 9 month build

    Configuration, testing, and adaptation against the five departments' workflows before any production use.

  • First-lab go-live

    The LIMS went live in one selected lab with a small batch of users for testing.

  • Phased scaling

    The remaining departments came onto the platform progressively rather than in a single cut-over.

What we actually built

What the lab runs now: Odoo ERP with a lab-management layer for one sample record.

The Eurofins stack now runs on Odoo for ERP with a laboratory-management layer on the same platform, integrated through EDI for client reporting. The platform replaced the 2017 system plus the additional tools that required manual entry to bridge them. Sample tracking became one continuous record from receipt through the analytical workflow to final report, replacing the prior pattern in which each department kept its own view of its own queue.

From each department’s queue to one shared record per sample.

The default question inside Eurofins shifted from 'each department managing its own queue' to 'the whole lab looking at one record per sample'. The platform did not just remove tools; it removed the question of which system to ask.
