Construction

Odoo for construction.

Our practice spans contractors and installation companies, building materials producers, and modular and prefab specialists. One platform for the site, the office and the books, with the master data shared between them so post-calculation reflects what actually happened.

Industry knowledge

We understand what construction actually needs. That's why it works.

A general contractor running multiple sites, a modular specialist combining factory production with on-site assembly, and a building materials producer with site delivery scope each work differently. What they share is a common operational pattern: the work happens on site, the decisions get made in the office, and the margin only becomes visible in finance long after both. The platforms that bridge those three are the ones that hold up under growth.

  • Margin you can't act on.

Every project loses with the same conversation: what did we budget, what did we spend, where did the gap come from. When labour, materials, subcontractors and overhead each live in a different place, that conversation is a reconstruction job weeks after the moment to act has passed. The platform that produces the numbers as the project happens gives the team a chance to protect the margin while there is still margin to protect.

  • Three systems, one too many.

Site managers log hours and materials on the tablet. The office tracks progress and budgets. Finance books the cost and invoices the client. Three jobs on three platforms means master data that drifts apart, monthly reconciliation that drains time, and a project margin nobody can defend in real time. One platform with shared master data closes the gap most contractors pay for every month.

  • Specialised software locks you in.

Specialised construction software handles site management and leaves finance, CRM, HR and procurement as separate problems. Generic ERP handles finance and leaves the site workflow as a mess of workarounds. Odoo configured for construction does both, with one partner across the site and the office. You don't choose between operational depth and platform breadth.

What we deliver

One platform for the site, the office and the books.

Dynapps is a leading Odoo implementation partner. What we bring is the configuration that makes Odoo work for builders. Project structures that hold up under post-calculation. Tablet workflows that site managers actually use on site. A structured bill of quantities at quote stage that carries through to execution. Subcontractor management on linked purchase orders, with progress billing and retention configured on top. Multi-entity architecture for groups operating across markets.

How we work together

A proven approach and dedicated team.

End-to-end Odoo solutions for construction, from the first conversation to ongoing optimisation.

  • 01

    Discovery

We dive into your operation: project structure, cost coding, site-side workflows, materials flow, subcontractor management, and the tax regime that applies in your market. We identify the configuration choices that determine whether post-calculation holds up, and define a roadmap that includes the site adoption work, not just the software work.

  • 02

    Configuration

We translate your construction operation into one platform: project structure with a structured bill of quantities, tablet workflows for site managers, materials flows from central to site, subcontractor management with progress billing, and finance with the right tax regime per entity. We validate with site managers and the CFO against real project scenarios.

  • 03

    Go-live and training

We implement, migrate and run pilot projects against actual workflows. Site managers and the office team get the training they need to be confident from day one, with the tablet workflow and the SOPs aligned, not in conflict.

  • 04

    Continuous improvement

We keep improving as you grow, monitoring usage and gathering feedback from site and office. Adding entities. Layering BIM or planning system integrations. Opening additional markets. Each change runs through change control so post-calculation stays reliable.

The other software on the market was heavy and slow and did not really match what we needed. Dynapps was the only one offering something simple, efficient and made to measure.

Industry challenges

Challenges we see most in construction.

  • Margins reconstructed, too late.

Margin reports land weeks after a project closes, with numbers that are hard to defend. Labour, material and subcontractor totals get pieced together from email threads. With Odoo, crews log hours on site, material ties straight to the project, and margins update as the work happens.

  • Workflows don't reach the office.

Site managers send WhatsApp photos, timesheets arrive on paper, material gets logged once a week at best. The office has no real-time view, so data only lands long after the work happened. Common with multiple active sites and thin central admin.

  • Quote accuracy never improves.

Quotes run on Excel templates that have not been checked against real outcomes in years. Post-calculation never feeds back, so the same mistakes repeat project after project. Hits contractors with high quote volume and recurring project types.

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Odoo for construction.

Can't find the answer you're looking for? Please reach out to us.

  • Yes. Odoo runs in production at contractors, installation companies, building materials producers and modular construction operations across our five European markets. Whether it fits your operation depends on how site workflows, project costing and material flows get modelled in the implementation. That is the work Dynapps does.

  • Yes. Odoo handles site management and project monitoring through the Projects module, with task tracking, time registration on tablets, photo capture from the site, and material consumption logged against the project. Site managers work from the tablet, the office sees real time, and finance picks up what was used automatically.

  • Post-calculation in Odoo compares what was budgeted against what was actually spent on each construction project: labour hours, materials, subcontractors and overhead. The data lives in one platform, so the comparison is a report instead of an Excel reconciliation. The CFO sees project margin without rebuilding the numbers each month.

  • Odoo's Sales module handles construction quotations with a structured bill of quantities (configured as sections, quantities and unit rates), configurator templates for recurring quote types, and a direct link from quote to project. The estimation logic stays connected to the post-calculation downstream, so quote accuracy improves with each completed project.

  • Yes. Odoo's Inventory module handles construction materials with multi-warehouse stock, per-site stock locations, transfers from central warehouse to site, just-in-time delivery flows aligned with the project schedule, and consumption logged against project tasks. The same module covers materials returned to stock and inter-project transfers.

  • Yes. Odoo handles subcontractor management through purchase orders linked to projects, three-way matching on subcontractor invoices, and time registration where subcontractors work alongside own staff on site. Progress billing and retention are configured on top of the standard modules, so subcontractor costs flow into the project margin without separate spreadsheet reconciliation.

  • Yes. Modular construction and prefabricated building operations combine manufacturing flows (BOM, work orders, factory production) with construction flows (site delivery, on-site assembly, project margin). Odoo handles both on one platform, with the production side configured as MRP and the project side configured as construction projects.
